I received my Masters in Counseling from UW Madison in 2005 and have fourteen years of experience in the mental health profession. I am very familiar with working with youth ages 5-18, schools (MTSS, RTI, SPED) and parents navigating their own mental health wellbeing or their children’s. Additionally, I’ve provided mental health support to youth and families in Spanish for the past eight years and have a high level of exposure to the multiple stressors and strengths often present in the Latinx community.
I’m especially focused on working with all ages on the treatment of anxiety. With a thorough understanding of the multiple ways anxiety presents itself we can apply a mix of concrete strategies to treat it. There is not a one size fits all approach – but therapy can help you take real steps to diminish the influence of anxiety in your life.
I often utilize Solution Focused Therapy techniques as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy methods. I have a true passion for helping people based on their current environment and the occurrence of their own life’s transitions or new chapters. Perhaps you are moving forward from a divorce, facing an empty nest, starting a new job or managing other life events that were unexpected but now a reality. Having a non-judgmental safe zone in which you can partner with an objective resource to understand how to be the best you can be is a powerful tool as you construct your new normal.
